Fladermouse Productions

From the beginning...
Fladermouse Productions, run by Artistic Director RICHARD BATT, is Poole's foremost professional Theatre Production Company. Past shows have included Tim Firth's Neville's Island, Ben Elton's Popcorn at the Lighthouse (Poole's Centre for the Arts) and a Theatre-In-Education tour of Phillip Riddley's Fairytale Heart.

In 2008 we dramatised the RNLI Health & Safety training sessions for their 'Face 2 Face' employees, as well as writing and producing Lost Quay III: Hope's War. October saw our inaugural musical held at the Pier Theatre, Bournemouth. The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas received excellent reviews from audience and journalists alike (see the specific page for the review). We finished the year with a themed Santa's Grotto on Poole Quay that drew HUGE crowds. The Elf toy factory was inundated with enthusiastic toy-testers!

Since 2006 we have written and produced the historical street-theatre in Old Town Poole entitled The Lost Quay. Now entering its fourth year, this award winning production is enjoyed by all with scenes such as Harry Paye's sword fight INSIDE St James Church, war veteran Tommy Arthurs interrogating the audience for enemy spies or nurse Hope Arthurs falling in love with a G.I.

Alongside the theatre work, Fladermouse have written and produced several short films.
Recent work being Guilty, a 10 minute short film concerning a revenge killing, but all parties are not as innocent or guilty as first assumed. Also Flawed, a gritty 50 minute film based upon a troubled marriage, complicated by the new boyfriend's obsessive nature. Fladermouse presented Flawed to a cinema audience in 2008 with fantastic feedback.

In 2009 Fladermouse Productions continued with exciting projects for film and theatre plus corporate/training and radio dramatisations. The summer saw the return of the award winning Lost Quay street-theatre, held at Baiter Park (see specific page for details).
